A beautiful romance, a picturesque setting and equally stunning characters!
I was kindly gifted a proof copy of this from Mills and Boon in exchange for an honest review and to take part in the blog tour.
Meet Me In Hawaii by Georgia Toffolo
Published 18th March 2021
Malie Pukui doesn’t believe in happy ever after. After a tragedy caused her to flee her family and friends in Devon she found a fresh start in Hawaii. Here, working at a surf school, she can give back to those in need and try to overcome the greatest loss in her life.
Moved around foster homes throughout his childhood, Todd Masters has worked hard to be able to offer a brighter future to young disadvantaged children. Now he has his own charitable foundation working with a surf school in Hawaii, a job he loves, but he still can’t put his past behind him.
When Malie rescues Todd from the sea a spark ignites between them, and the two wounded souls find a common ground. But amidst the surf, sunsets and sizzling kisses, can Malie let go of her past and risk something she’d locked away forever… her heart?
This is the second book in the’Meet Me In…’ series (Meet Me In London is the first and you can check out my review for that here) and it is currently my favourite – this might be partly due to the fabulous setting in Hawaii.
With books, especially romance, I want to be completely and utterly swept away and just forget reality for a bit…Meet Me In Hawaii did just that. Despite the grey and rainy weather outside my own window, I was 100% in Hawaii with Malie and I could have stayed there for a lot longer.
I’m not going to compare this too much with the first book as each girls story is so different but Malie was just wonderful and I definitely felt more of an attachment to her. Whilst she was battling with guilt from the accident and her brother, she was still strong, compassionate and a bad ass surfer babe.
Watching the romance between Malie and Todd grow was like watching your friends fall in love, although frustrating at times as you just wanted to shake sense into both of them! They really are the nicest and kindest of couples and the whole story is bursting with love not just between them but for the kids in the charity foundation she teaches to surf. Not only are we treated to a beautiful romance but the underlying story of learning to live, take chances and move on is something I think we can all relate to a little bit.
Overall this is such a wonderful story that will leave you with the biggest smile on your face and if you’re anything like me, wanting to move to Hawaii immediately and take up surfing!
Absolutely one to add to your wishlist if you’re after a swoon-worthy romance, beautiful setting and lovable characters.
