Rating: 4 out of 5.

This took me a little while to get into as during each chapter you hear from a number of different members of the family and what is happening in their lives so sometimes it got a little confusing when it changed suddenly. However once I got into the flow of things I was completely engrossed in this family’s life.

From the beginning you know something bad has happened and the book explores what happened each day leading up to this catastrophic event. Each family member has secrets and as you get to know each one of them over the course of the book more and more truths will be uncovered.

Despite there being a fair few characters I was completely invested in each one. Each one had complicated and messy lives with their own problems and I just wanted them to succeed but I have to say my favourite was Darren’s story.

As mentioned once I got into the sudden changes of narrator it was fast paced with perfectly timed twists that added to the intensity of it all. I did guess one big secret but to be honest it didn’t matter as the book is layered with so many that when you think you have one another one is thrown at you.

Overall this was such a brilliant domestic family drama that will have you entangled in this family’s life until the very end, just not knowing who to trust. It’s perfect for fans of Our Little Cruelties!
